John Montelepre, Jr and John Montelepre, III
John Montelepre, Jr., a novice in the local restaurant business for 43 years, had a shared vision with his son, John Montelepre, III, who held a degree in Entrepreneurship and Management, as well as a shared passion for putting excellence on the table. The two combined talents came on the local culinary scene in August of 2009 with the opening of 2Johns Steak & Seafood, changing the area’s fine dining landscape with the highest quality cuts of prime steak, fresh seafood, cocktails and decadent desserts. Now, over 14 years later, the establishment has expanded multiple times to accommodate the market demand for nightly live entertainment, a private wine cellar with one of the most extensive wine lists in the region, patio and courtyard dining, and continued modern elegance with elevated fine dining experiences. The pair continues to serve the area with excellence, attributable to an entire team of 2Johns’ key employees that make the establishment the award-winning fine dining that it is.
The Executive Chef in our kitchen, Josh Wilkinson, has been around since the start. Josh and ‘Little John’ go way back, both attending Louisiana Tech University as fraternity brothers and pursuing careers in the culinary industry. Josh attended Scotsdale Culinary Institute, graduating in 2003. The dynamic duo worked on the local restaurant scene before the opening of 2Johns, but have since taken the Shreveport-Bossier culinary scene by storm at 2Johns. Josh, a big family man, always sees the cup half-full and gives our kitchen great energy. He also often journeys outside of the kitchen to visit with customers, so be on the lookout for the man that oversees the ‘room where the magic happens.’
Stacie, a Shreveport native, has been with 2Johns since the initial planning stages, joining the team months before opening in August of 2009. Wearing a lot of hats, she is the lead server, front of house manager, event planner, and everything in between, handling all things from customer relations to training and scheduling. When asked what she enjoys most about being such a large part of our team, the answer was very clear: the people. Customers, coworkers, and bosses alike, the people that make 2Johns what it is are her most treasured part of the job. After 25 years in the restaurant industry, she much prefers a family-owned operation and is right at home with 2Johns.
Gregg has been with 2Johns since day one, finding his home at 2Johns after serving in the restaurant industry for the majority of his life. Gregg, aside from being a top-notch waiter, is also known as our ‘wine guy,’ serving as our in-house sommelier. He has played a very important role in building one of the best, most diverse, eclectic and accessible wine lists in the region and his taste for “the grapes” is unmatched. Like his tough-to-beat talent for choosing the best wine, his relationships with our customers elevate the 2Johns’ experience in a way that is tough to describe. When asked what he treasures most about being at 2Johns, he said, “For me, it’s my customers. I’ve built a large clientele over the years and I’m thankful for each and every one of them. Making people happy is important to me and wine is just one way to do that!”
Jordan, our Lead Bartender and Bar Manager, is a Shreveport native with a passion for mixology and over a decade of experience in the restaurant industry. Having honed his skills in various establishments, Jordan joined the 2Johns team five years ago and ascended to his current role in 2023. With 13 years of bartending prowess under his belt, Jordan carries on the treasured 2Johns’ tradition of crafting libations that are nothing short of exceptional. His favorite aspect of tending bar at 2Johns is the connections he forges nightly, as well as the joy of serving patrons who share his fervor for finely-crafted cocktails.
